How to reach Bhutan

By Air : There are flights between Bagdograairport and Paro Airport.

By Rail : The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri(NJP), which is the connecting bridge of the entire Northeast region to the other parts of the country. Several tourist vehicles are available from the NJP to reach Bhutan.

By Road : Bhutan is a well-connected major city in Eastern India. Siliguri is around 157 km from Bhutan.

Taktsang Monastery, Paro

No one hasn’t heard of or seen a pic of the famous Tiger’s Nest or the Taktsang Monastery. It is a belief that once a religious Guru flew here from Tibet on a Tiger. Then he took a rest here. It is certainly a popular site that most people travel to Bhutan.

Chele La Pass

Chele La Pass is the highest motorable pass in Bhutan. It is beautiful beyond imagination as its name suggests. The Chele La Pass separates the Paro Valley from the Haa Valley and is also one of the best points for photographers.

Dochula Pass

The beautiful pass consists of 108 Chortens or Stupas, the signs of peace. It is another spot that attracts visitors. There is a memorial for the soldiers that have died fighting for the country. The pass also provides a beautiful view of the GangkarPuensum peak in its background.

Phobjikha Valley

The Phobjikha Valley, a small town, is excellently beautiful. It is located in central Bhutan. Surrounded by lush greenery and mountains, the town creates perfect scenery. It is excellent for a hike through the woods.

Punakha Dzong

Punakha Dzong is a center of art and architecture in Bhutan. Well known as the palace of great happiness, PunakhaDzong represents the great culture and rich heritage through its unique art and architectural practices.

Buddha Dordenma

It is one of the outstanding pieces of work and the tallest statues of the Shakyamuni Buddha statue in Bhutan. The Buddha Dordenma is a sightseeing location and a pilgrimage center for the Buddhist population of Bhutan.

Jigme Dorji National Park

Jigme Dorji National Park is the second largest national park in Bhutan. It provides an absolute treat for wildlife enthusiasts traveling to Bhutan. The park stretches over an area of about 4316 sq. km with an elevation ranging from 1400 m to 7000 m. The major attractions are wildlife species like tiger, clouded leopard, Himalayan blue sheep, Himalayan black bear, beautiful birds, and some unique flora and fauna.

Thimphu Chorten

Located on Doeboom Lam in the southern-central part of the city, ThimphuChorten is a Buddhist Stupa. Built-in 1974 to honor the third DrukGyalpo, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the stupa is a prominent landmark in the city with its golden spires and bells.
